Full Story
Scene 1: Hattie the baby hippo thought she was a bird! She loved the flamingos, and they loved her too.
Scene 2: Today, Hattie saw the flamingos perch on branches. 'I want to fly like them!' she squealed.
Scene 3: Hattie took a big breath, wiggled her little legs, and jumped! SPLASH! She landed right in the puddle.
Scene 4: Next, Hattie tried to perch on a flower. But the petals were too soft! Down she went, tumbling into a cloud of flowers.
Scene 5: Then, Hattie thought of worms! 'Flamingos eat worms,' she said. But she didn’t know how dirt tasted!
Scene 6: After all her tries, Hattie felt sad. 'Maybe I can’t be a bird,' she whispered. Flora flapped her wings and smiled.
Scene 7: Flora and Felix stood by Hattie. 'You are our special hippo!' Flora said with a smile. 'Family is about belonging, not being the same!'
